Established in 2020, spruce is a welcome addition to the charming, vibrant Bryn Mawr neighborhood of Minneapolis. spruce was born of the desire to create a safe and inclusive space during the onset of the covid-19 pandemic.  Our hope is to provide a sliver of normalcy during such an extraordinary time.

We brought the space to life with great intention - serving our clients, many of whom have become good friends, with exceptional hair styling services was just the beginning.  We designed the salon so our clients would feel welcome and safe from the moment they arrived and throughout their visit.

The salon’s open layout provides an ideal community space.  spruce will be available to the greater Twin Cities community to host private events (once we are beyond the pandemic and social distancing).  It’s vast, high white walls flooded in natural light are perfect for art installations, opening events, salon gatherings to discuss important issues of the day, and private social gatherings.  Contact us to learn more about the space rental.

Currently we exhibit rotating artwork from local artists for our personal enjoyment and that of our clients.  Eventually the salon’s art shows will also be open to the wider community.

We offer an assortment of styling merchandise available for purchase.  Each brand was selected based on their products’ styling benefits and socially responsible production that protects our animals and our environment.

covid-19 safety: Adhering to covid-19 safety protocols has been a priority for spruce since opening our doors (ensuring safety is actually the reason that we opened our doors).  We will continue to follow, and exceed, CDC protocol guidelines as long as required.

accessibility:   It's worth mentioning we are located in an old building, so unfortunately our restrooms are located down a flight of stairs. Aside from that, spruce is accessible and we are happy to accommodate other needs when necessary, just give us a call.
